David James Allen

Folk singer/songwriter Dave Allen was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. He was exposed to an eclectic collection of music at a young age, from Bowie to Dylan, Joan Armatrading to Supertramp and The Beatles. These influences helped to shape the all-embracing qualities of his own song craft. Growing up in a musical family, Dave was introduced to improvised melody and performance in jamming pop & folk songs of the 60’s and 70s with his mother, father and younger sister. These jams typically happened at family gatherings and campfires to small crowds of friends and family around Southern Ontario. It was these musical moments that ignited Dave’s ambition for songwriting and creative work. Dave was the lead singer-songwriter in the rock n’ soul band Stonetrotter who had released their full length album ‘Stonetrotter’ in 2015. You can find Dave performing solo or with his Family band  in venues across Ontario. Dave’s debut full-length record is set to be released in 2017.
